The Role of Controller

We are looking for a Controller who will grow with the company. The successful candidate will enjoy a challenging and rewarding environment and will support the management team. The Controller's responsibilities will be to manage all aspects of accounting and finance functions including financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses on an as-needed basis.

The Controller must be defined by a focus on execution, strong bias for action, decisiveness, a sense of urgency, problem solving, and the ability to work as a team member. The successful candidate will have a passion for process improvement and a desire to reduce waste and embrace technology.

This position reports to the CEO.

Requirements

Strong background in accounting, manufacturing, financial and tax reporting.

Profound knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Epicor Manufacturing is a plus.

Ability to compile fiscal period end check lists, including all points of actions such as accruals and deferrals, inventory adjustments, taxes due, closing of jobs for reconciliation of WIP, subledger reconciliation, etc.

General Responsibilities

· Oversee Company’s daily transactions, AP, AR, cash receipts, cash payments, payroll. Ensure subledgers are reconciled properly.

· Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives.

· Prepare financial statements for internal and external reviews. Provide notes and descriptions concerning variances.

· Full control of accounting department with well-organized and controlled system of record keeping.

· Manage intercompany department communications regarding financial impact and consequences.

· Create and enforce processes and procedures affecting company accounting for payroll, sales, purchasing, inventory management, production, and shipping to work in unison for a healthy financial state of the manufacturing enterprise.

· Fully control cash flow with an eye toward maximizing the increase of cash flow.

· Assist on projects such as integration of ERP with various add-ons for optimization of workflow.

· Oversee company’s tax reporting obligations including payroll, sales, property and income tax.

Experience:

· Accounting in a Manufacturing business: 5 years minimum (Required)

· AA or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
